Eligibility to File for Separate Maintenance

Nevada Legal Separation

Separate maintenance is sometimes called legal separation. It allows married spouses to ask a Nevada court to address property, debts, spousal support, and, when applicable, custody, parenting time, and child support.

You remain married after a separate-maintenance decree. Neither spouse is free to remarry.

This interview asks a few questions to help you decide whether to file together with a Joint Petition or begin on your own with a Complaint. Some answers may mean you should get legal guidance before continuing.

If you need help understanding a question, select Save and Finish Later, then find legal help. Do not guess.
